BGore 008ABallards Gore Golf Club, situated in 112 acres of mature rolling countryside near Rochford in Essex , has taken delivery of a fleet of eight
E-Z-GO electric RXV golf cars from local distributor, Ernest Doe & Sons.

Originally owned by David and Jeff Caton, the course was opened in 1980 as a 9-hole facility and expanded to 18 holes in 1985. It was sold in 2006 to Julian Innell and was purchased in September 2010 by current owners, Walter Properties. The day-to-day management is the responsibility of general manager, Michael Brown.

"Our priority here is the golf course," he says. "We want it to be a real golf course for the real golfer. We want the facilities to match the golfing environment and have an improvement plan which is phased over three years that will see the installation of cart paths, drainage and new course maintenance equipment. In this initial phase we have revamped the clubhouse, creating a new reception area, incorporated the Pro Shop into the building and purchased this new fleet of E-Z-GO buggies.

BGore 012A"We chose the RXV vehicles because we were impressed with the build quality and the four-year warranty; they also look good and drive well. We've constructed a new buggy compound to house and charge them overnight.

"As you can see, we are committed to a series of major improvements that we are convinced will push our membership through the 600 barrier and providing a quality golfing experience for members and visitors. The buggies are an integral part of this process."

Ballards Gore has been designed to challenge all standards of golfer with testing par 3's, lengthy par 4's and the excellent use of 5 lakes that ensures a broad repertoire of shots is needed to master the course. It also offers excellent practice facilities, with a 12-acre practice field and 100-yard practice hole, which allows golfers to practice every aspect of the game. The club is sponsored by the motor vehicle franchise, Essex Audi.
