Members of a doomed sports club marked the end of an era with games and social events, over the weekend.
The Gloucester Civil Service Sports Club closed its doors for the last time on Saturday, after national body the Civil Service Sports Council decided to shut it down.
For club chairman David Aylen, who has been involved with the facility for decades and fought the closure through an appeal process, it was a sad moment.
He said: "From our point of view, it is very sad. "We are not a financial strain on our headquarters. We are not here to make money, we are here to provide civil servants and their families with sports facilities.
"I feel extremely sad about it, not just from a personal point of view, but because we're going to be closing the gates on an excellent facility."
