Mark Harrod Ltd, one of the UK's leading manufacturers and suppliers of sports equipment, has improved safety on and off the touchline.
Installation staff at the company, which is a leading company in goal post safety, are now CRB checked allowing them to fit and maintain equipment in schools.
Workers from the Stafford factory also qualified to NVQ Level 2 in manufacturing, as well as passing the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).
Managing Director, Mark Harrod, said: "We work with a lot of schools, local authorities and sports clubs. With the CSCS sports installer health and safety exam all our staff are qualified to the national standard and are trained to carry out every installation safely and efficiently."
By law all people who come into contact with children, the elderly or other vulnerable people through their work must be Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked.
Mark Harrod, who has more than 30 years experience as a manufacturer and supplier of sports equipment, is also a leading advocate of sports safety with all equipment conforming to the latest British and European Standards
Mark Harrod added: "We understand the concerns parents have and we were happy to have all our staff CRB checked. It also gives our business more flexibility as everyone at Mark Harrod can work in every sector from Chelsea Football club to the local primary school."
The NVQ training was carried out by South Birmingham College and was fully funded by the government's Train to Gain programme.
Eight members of the team in Stafford, from welders to warehouse managers, took part in the scheme.
As well as sponsoring Grass Roots events from the Staffordshire County Youth Cup to the Birmingham County FA Sunday Youth Cup, the Mark Harrod name can be seen at clubs including Chelsea FC and Birmingham City.
