Former Chief Executve of Harlequins Rugby Club, Mark Evans talks of the importance of finding the right stadium.
There are any number of challenges facing professional rugby clubs across Britain, both in union and league, but one stands out above all the others - namely the use or existence of a suitably sized and resourced stadiums.
Even after 15 years of full-time professionalism in each code there are a large number of clubs searching for a solution. From Edinburgh Rugby, playing in stadium that is far too big for them, to Cornish Pirates, playing in a county with no stadium of any size at all, this issue is by far the greatest obstacle to viability across the game.
