Senior management changes at Ransomes Jacobsen ltd

By Peter Driver

His promotion follows a recent favourable review of the business from the company's US owners, Textron, and reflects his contribution to the significant progress that the company has made in the past three years.

David joined the Jacobsen organisation in 1992 as a Regional Sales Manager, following three years with Charterhouse Turf Machinery. In 1995 David became National Accounts Manager for Jacobsen followed by the positions of UK Sales Manager and International Sales Manager when the Ransomes and Jacobsen companies came together in 1998. In 2002 he was appointed Sales and Marketing Director.

"The past few years have seen an improvement in our company's position, both in the market and financially. As we go forward we will continue to focus on our customers needs by providing complete and innovative solutions for their turf maintenance requirements", he said.

Following on from this promotion, Alan Prickett has been promoted to the position of Sales Director. Alan has been with the company for eight years and has been involved with the sale of Ransomes and Jacobsen equipment for over 20 years, most latterly as UK Sales Manager.

Commenting on his appointment Alan said, "We have a great sales team here at Ransomes Jacobsen with a huge amount of industry experience. I look forward to working with them to further improve our customer relations and to continue to grow our business."

Steve Chicken continues in his role as managing director of Jacobsen International, the holding company for Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd, Ransomes Jacobsen France, Ransomes Jacobsen Italy and the consumer products company Granja which manufactures in France. The Jacobsen International territory is large and ranges from Iceland to India. David Withers' appointment at Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd will allow Steve Chicken more time to focus on various projects and corporate assignments outside of the UK.
