Among the most frequent enquiries at this year's Wiedenmann UK stand at BTME Harrogate were those focussing on how best to connect the top soil with drainage layers.
Chas Ayres, Wiedenmann UK's Sales Manager explains: "The recent weather challenges prompted attention on just how difficult the ground gets and what can be done throughout the year to condition the soil in readiness for a particularly hard winter. The recurring themes were how far tines can penetrate and the maximum amount of heave you can put on a machine to achieve most shattering effect below ground level while leaving the playing surface in an acceptable condition.
"We'd brought the Terra Spike XP onto our stand and were able to show how it can power down to 400 mm with solid tines and to at least 250 mm deep with hollow tines."
The XP is high on productivity and efficiency with an enviable work ethic. Available in two working widths - 1.6m, 2.1m, key features such as vibra stop, quick set heave, quick set depth, power pack and quick fit make it a very easy to use and extremely safety conscious. It combines with various tools and rear attachments expanding it into a multi-functional machine with year round use. It can be equipped with a bogey trailer, a hydraulic rotary brush and core collection scraper/windrow.
A PTO slip clutch, linkage pins, rear roller with scraper bar, a parking stand system, safety guards and first set of 20 mm diameter tines come as standard.
Prices start from £21 990 ex VAT.
