Sports soils and sands specialist Whitemoss Eco, were delighted to recently welcome a fact-finding delegation from the Sports Turf Research Institute, led by Head of Turf Grass Agronomy Stuart Ormondroyd, to its quarry in Cheshire.

"The visit gave us the chance to show the STRI the state-of-the-art facilities at our quarry, including the recently installed £1.5 million washplant, which has the capacity to produce 500,000 tonnes of sports sand per year," said Andy Law, Whitemoss Eco Managing Director.

"It was also an ideal opportunity for them to see at first hand the range of eco-friendly products, including rootzones, topsoils and top dressings, we now produce using certified green compost and our ability to mix these products to meet the specific requirements of customers.

"We believe we have one of the best facilities of its kind in the UK and we are always happy to show visitors round," he added.
