Surrey Groundsman Association Conference 2005
The annual conference of the Surrey Groundsman's Association was held at the impressive Brit Oval on the 23rd March. The Oval has been busy undergoing a major facelift, with a brand new stand built in time for the Ashes tour this summer.
Chris Bullen, the Cricket Development Manager for Surrey County Cricket Club, hailed the conference a great success, with over 60 groundsmen attending. A full days agenda included presentations from the England and Wales Cricket Board, Koro and Fleet Line Markers as well as an umpires view of pitches with Barry Dudleston.
Sherriff Amenity, as part of their sponsorship of the Surrey Groundsman's Mentoring Scheme provided three guest speakers for the day, all of which gave a fascinating insight into nutrition, chemicals and seeds and their applications in the world of cricket groundsmanship.
