Continuing sub-zero temperatures around the country have begun to take their toll on the calendar, with two football matches scheduled for this evening already postponed.

Cheltenham's npower League Two match against Southend was first to go after an inspection at Whaddon Road revealed a frozen pitch - with the club's groundsmen already focusing on rescuing Saturday's meeting with Lincoln.

Next to be called off for the same reason was the Football League Trophy northern semi-final between Tranmere and Huddersfield.

Meanwhile, Wednesday's race meeting at Kempton has been switched to an afternoon start, with the action beginning at 2pm running through to the last at 5.30pm.
