Chesterfield GC2Chesterfield purchases two Toro Reelmaster Sidewinder mowers as part of major bunker renovation programme

When Chesterfield Golf Club undertook a three-year bunker renovation programme, they knew there was only one piece of kit to conquer the steep edges and sharp contours of their new hazards - a Toro Reelmaster 3100-D Sidewinder mower.

As part of a recently signed five-year deal with Toro distributor Lely UK, the Derbyshire club has invested in two 3100-Ds, famed for their 'shifting' cutting units and unbeatable manoeuvrability.

As course manager Mark Crossley explains: "We needed a machine that would get around those hard-to-reach areas, and it does just that and more. It's superb! It's extremely versatile, works on all areas of our 18-hole course and is great to ride. With all the investment in our bunkers, we needed a machine that would show them off and the Reelmaster does that - the quality and difference is remarkable."

The club, which has been using Toro machines for seven years, has also added two Greenmaster 1000s, a Groundsmaster 3500-D Sidewinder and a Debris Blower 600 to its fleet. What's more, Mark is looking forward to the delivery of a further five Toro machines in the near future.

Chesterfield GC1Mark's a big fan of Toro, crediting the machines for their reliability and productivity. "Adding more Toro to our fleet is one of the best decisions I've made as a course manager," he concludes. "I won't hear a bad word said against Toro as they really perform. We get a spot-on before and after service and are looking forward to getting even more Toro machines for the club in future."
