The UK's largest local authority golf course maintenance contractor, Glendale, has signed a two-year preferred supplier agreement with Toro for turfcare equipment.

Senior purchasing manager Stuart Darbyshire said: "The deal with Toro underlines our commitment to use only the highest quality machinery. We undertook comprehensive trials of a wide range of golf course machinery and consulted our operators. All round, Toro machinery was the preferred choice. We found it to be robustly made, productive, comfortable to use, easy and safe to operate, and it delivers superb results."

Glendale, which celebrated its 21st anniversary last November, is now using Toro Greensmaster 3250-D and Reelmaster 3100-D Sidewinder mowers at two municipal sites in Liverpool - Kirkby Golf Course and Allerton Golf Course. The company will also be using Toro kit to maintain turf for one of its most high profile customers, Richmond Park Golf Course.

Toro's Trevor Chard says: "We are delighted to be working with Glendale. They offer a superb level of service to their customers, and this echoes Toro's own commitment to quality. We are looking forward to a long and successful relationship."
