Toro Commercial Products at Scotsturf 2007

Stand Nos. D5-8

New tractor-mounted aerators and Reelmaster 6000 series fairway mowers with DPA cutting units also go on show in Scotland for the first time

Visitors to the Toro stand can find out about a brand new plan called Toro Protection Plus (TPP). The company says the plan provides machinery customers with the turf industry's most comprehensive protection against unexpected and unwanted repair bills, enabling them to keep tight control of budgets and ensure equipment stays in peak condition.

TPP gives extended protection on commercial equipment beyond Toro's industry-leading standard two-year warranty for up to another three years. Therefore this provides five years of Toro coverage. Costs can be built into customers' operating budgets to help them stay on-budget and avoid unexpected repair costs resulting from the failure of a defective part or assembly.

New ProCore 864 and 1298. Also on show are the latest additions to Toro's innovative range of aeration machinery - the new ProCore 864 and 1298. In developing the new tractor-mounted units, which replace the old 660 and 880 models, Toro has combined proven coring head technology from the acclaimed ProCore 648 pedestrian greens aerator with an improved platform. The result, it says, is two highly advanced, productive aerators that are exceptionally quiet and smooth in operation.

Toro has increased the aeration widths of these ProCore models to deliver maximum productivity across a broad range of hole spacings. Working widths are 64in (163cm) for the 864 and 98in (249cm) for the 1298. Productivity is further enhanced on the ProCore 1298 through articulating coring heads that 'flex' three degrees in each direction to maximise ground-following capability on undulations and ensure a consistent coring depth.

Both ProCore versions are also fitted with a head drive system, also used on the ProCore 648 pedestrian aerator, that eliminates hopping, rocking and uncomfortable vibration, thereby reducing operator fatigue and ensuring quiet and smooth operation.

Reelmaster 6000 series with DPA cutting units. Toro is also showing the Reelmaster 6000 series fairway mowers fitted as standard with its innovative DPA cutting units, which allow quick, precise adjustment of the bedknife from both sides.

The DPA units use a simple, two-point bedknife-to-reel design with precise 0.001in (0.0025cm) increment adjustments that are firmly held in position during mower operation. This means fewer readjustments, longer edge retention and optimum ground-following for a cleaner, more consistent cut and healthier turf.

Visitors to the stand can also find out about a new Operating Lease arrangement, introduced by Lely UK, for customers who prefer the machinery hire route to outright purchase and ownership. The scheme, which can include maintenance, is available across the Toro range of machinery. The company says the benefit of this option is that customers can forecast their budgets to the penny over several years, allowing for total control of funds.

Note to Editors: Toro commercial turf maintenance products are distributed throughout mainland UK by Lely (UK) Limited, 1 Station Road, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, and in all of Ireland by Lely Ireland Limited, Kilboggin, Nurney, Co. Kildare.
