Top golf course management company Macdonald Golf Management Limited (MGM) has entered into a partnership with Toro for the supply of machinery to all seven of its golf courses.

MGM was launched last year specifically to manage a number of golf courses associated with Macdonald Hotels. This is the Scottish group that now figures high in the rankings of quality venues in Scotland, the North of England, Midlands and Southampton in the South.

MGM chairman, Lord Michael Taylor, says: "We worked very closely with the course managers at all our sites and asked them what machinery they preferred. They all chose Toro. Offering five-star golf facilities, we need five-star machinery to maintain them. I am confident that by entering into a partnership with Toro we will continue to meet these standards."

The management company's golf course liaison officer, Barry Robinson, based at Portal Golf & Country Club's 45-hole complex, spoke for the course managers at all seven venues. "We all agreed that Toro was the first choice," he says. "In my opinion it's the best machinery on the market and can't be beaten in terms of value for money, reliability, back-up, service and overall quality. The package fitted our criteria and Toro was able to supply our different courses with machinery to suit their specific needs."
