With Manchester United Football Club's Carrington training ground currently being remodelled to include hard footpaths between the pitches, grounds manager Tony Sinclair needed a more manoeuvrable mowing solution.
A single Toro Reelmaster 6700-D wide-area mower previously cut the Premier League giant's training pitches, but now three new Toro Reelmaster 3100-D mowers with Duel Precision Adjustment cutting units are doing the job.
Tony says that these machines are better suited to the task. "The walkways have been put in to prevent spectators wearing the grass," he reveals. "After trying the 3100-Ds we found they were better able to cope with the more confined spaces around the paths. They're more manoeuvrable and adaptable."
Tony's also invested in a fourth Reelmaster 3100-D to cut the Littleton Road academy training ground.
