Greens staff at Ashburnham Golf Club who have been using the Raycam Triplex Greens Brush for the past three months are so impressed with it that a second unit is on order for delivery this autumn.

Course Manager Huw Morgan first became aware of the Triplex when reading an article in a trade journal and requested a demonstration from Campey Turfcare Systems, the UK distributor for Raycam.

"Although we had seen independent machines for brushing prior to cutting, we had never seen one as an attachment to the front of a mower," Huw explained. In our case, it is fixed to the front of a Toro Greensmaster 3250D. This is an important difference because it means that a two man, two pass operation becomes one, saving both time and money."

The Raycam Triplex Greens Brush lifts lateral growth allowing it to be boxed off, preventing the building up of thatch. This leaves a firm, healthy surface with vertical growth. It also reduces the grain and the need for verticutting.

"There are other benefits to this system," he continued. "As with all golf courses, we are up at the crack of dawn to mow the grass every morning. Normally we would use a sweeper to remove the damp, but the Triplex brush does this for us. The action of the brushes sweeps away the dew and allows a cleaner, surer cut. All of these are extremely important factors in maintaining healthy grass but with the added benefit of eliminating yet another time consuming task in the process."

For more information about the Raycam Triplex Greens Brush or to arrange a demonstration, please contact Campey Turfcare Systems on 01260 224568, email info@campeyturfcare.com or visit stand V28 at SALTEX.
