Since Pitchcare started over eight years ago, we have been in the fortunate position to work very closely with both the trade and the practioners. During this time there has been much conjecture voiced and written about the future of the industry and the trade shows. In recent months, due to high demand, we sent out two questionnaires, one to our members (the Groundsmen and the Greenkeepers) and one to the companies that historically and regularly support the guys and girls in the field.

For your information 15% of the companies supplied fully completed surveys and 4% of the members who received the survey also took the time to complete it in full. These results do not include unfinished survey responses. Over the next week we will also be publishing the written majority responses that many offered in addition to these statistics.

Below are the results of the two surveys, we hope that you find them interesting.

One interesting statistic is September and February are still the months people prefer on average despite annual winge by many about both current shows being seasonally unsuitable.

Of course the grass looks good. The sun is shining.

Hi Dave,

Hope you are well.

Im just looking at your percentages of returned surveys and wondering how many surveys you initially sent out to members and to companies in total?
Also, have you got a breakdown of what line of work people are in who returned the forms...whether that be groundsmanship, greenkeeping, trade etc?

I must agree with Peter on the statistics regarding when a show should take place, very interesting, but also surprising at the same time....I know for sure alot of the guys in greenkeeping will still be working like crazy, whether its preparing for comps or doing renovations and I'd have thought the footy guys would have a pretty busy schedule as well, at that time of the year?

Thanks in advance
DE

Sorry also forgot to add.....

It would be really interesting to see the results outcomes if this survey was put on the website. Would this be at all possible?

Informative article DS.

Questions 5, 6, 7 and 8 for me at least give some indication as to just how and what both trade and visitors really would like to experience. It will be very interesting to see a few of the comments made by trade for question 8.
