Turf Problems Solved

By Editor

A.J. Turgeon & J.M. Vargas 2006, Publisher John Wiley & Sons

Written by two of the world's most knowledgeable turf academics "The Turf Problem Solver" contains extensive information on turf pests, solutions and treatments.

Professors A.J Turgeon and J.M Vargas utilise contemporary case studies and technical expertise to educate readers of the most effective practices for tackling and avoiding turf problems. Contains practical, real life case studies, which are an entertaining method to inform and address turf problems.

In particular this book offers excellent information on turf problems involving the environment, climate, shade, moisture, etc. Cultural issues such as mowing, fertilization, irrigation, rolling and pesticide issues with weeds, diseases and insects are addressed in depth. There is also an extremely useful appendices section, which displays chemical names, maps, conversion charts, and calibration guidelines.

This is a fantastic book by two men who have always shared their expertise to help develop the British turfgrass industry. There is not enough contemporary turf related books of this quality available. When such books are produced more of us should sit back, take time to read, learn and ultimately improve the quality of the turf we produce.
