Turf Science Live is a one-day event to showcase the latest research, development and technological innovations in turf agronomy. Turf Science Live will give a practical hands-on opportunity to interact with leading specialists and find out how the techniques can be used to enhance turf playing surfaces.
The first ever Turf Science Live event is to be held at The Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI) at Bingley in Yorkshire on Tuesday 27 July.
Turf Science Live will be the first opportunity for turf managers to see some of the latest developments in turf agronomy, along with series of hands-on practical demonstrations by leading turf researchers, agronomists and specialists.
Organised by Syngenta, Scotts Professional and the STRI, the inaugural event is focussed primarily at golf course managers and greenkeepers. Trials and demonstrations will include turf sward conversion innovation, playing surface quality evaluation, improving fairway quality, environmental management techniques and latest developments, turf fertilizers and nutrition.
Introducing Turf Science Live, STRI Chief Executive, Gordon McKillop, said: "At a time when there are constant demands from club management and players calling for ever greater quality within tough budget constraints, it's crucial that turf managers get the chance to see first-hand the many exciting developments in turf agronomy, and how they can put the innovation into practice on their own courses."

Numbers for Turf Science Live are strictly limited, to allow individuals in small groups to get the most information out of each demonstration. If the day is over-subscribed, further events will be planned. Other Turf Science Live events are also being planned specifically for groundsmen and winter sports pitch managers.
