Calling All Cricketers, Footballers, Rugby Players, Groundsmen and Club Chairman
Now is your chance to nominate your chosen Unsung Hero in the groundsmanship category, giving he or she the chance to be awarded during Harrogate Week. Terrain Aeration's Unsung Heroes have struggled to make fine pitches from un-touched farmland, held down paid jobs and yet cared for their local ground for free, and one sterling winner who worked for a local authority was not allowed to keep his prize so he donated it to his lord mayor's charity.
All of them are ordinary groundsmen who are anything but ordinary. Generous with their time, advice and expertise, happy to help their colleagues and dedicated to a fault, none of them could have been celebrated without your nominations.
