The improvement of river water quality is a national priority and we need to ensure the understanding of those concerned with amenity is appropriate. The Government White Paper entitled 'Water for Life' was released in December and the Forum will contributie to ongoing discussion related to this.
The White Paper is at http://www.official-documents.gov.uk/document/cm82/8230/8230.pdf

If your organisation is not a member of the Amenity Forum perhaps you can get the powers that be to consider joining. The Forum depends entirely on funding from its members and we could make a lot more noise with more members. Membership costs £500 a year and will allow you to Forum Meetings where you can influence our policy. Members also get more information by email than those on this wider circulation list. Check out our website to get an overview of what we are doing.
