Advances in modern communication techniques have enabled Weed Free to appoint Phil Voice as Marketing Manager, working from his home office in a farmhouse near Bergerac.
Phil, who will be responsible for looking after existing clients and developing new business, brings over 25 years experience to the role having started out as an assistant greenkeeper in 1979. He went on to study at Merrist Wood and Sparsholt colleges gaining qualifications in both amenity horticulture and greenkeeping while developing a successful landscape and grounds maintenance company, with a specialist lawn care division. Since moving to France, as well as renovating his farmhouse, Phil has developed his own interactive landscaping website, but misses the day-to-day contact with turf professionals. "It's quite surreal using Skype phone via the internet to call greenkeepers, whilst being plugged into the Weed Free server and processing account information," he says. "But it means I can stay involved with an industry that has been my livelihood all my working life."
Mike Seaton, Weed Free's MD who has known Phil for many years says that his broad experience covering both amenity turf and lawn care, makes him ideal for the job. "Customers feel they can discuss their turf care problems with Phil because he's already been there," he says. "He's just the right person to offer support and advice."
Phil can be contacted at: marketing@weedfree.co.uk
