Dates and venues for Britain's first series of half-day roadshows to highlight the benefits of spot weeding using infrared technology have been unveiled.
Leading amenity contractor Complete Weed Control has confirmed the programme of free roadshows to discuss how state-of-the-art infrared guidance on the Weed-IT tractor-mounted sprayer can deliver heightened sensitivity to restrict pesticide application only to where it's needed - on the weeds, rather than on hard surfaces - and without drift.
The morning events kick off on 18 November at Hamilton Park Racecourse, Motherwell, with Doncaster and Haydock Park following on the 18th and 19th respectively.
They then move south to the East Midlands on 25th when the Walkers Stadium, Leicester plays host, then Bath Racecourse on the 26th and finally Lingfield Park, Surrey, on the 27th.
Parks and highways managers will hear about the EU thematic strategy, pesticides reduction programmes and how the Weed-IT Mach 3 - for which CWC has sole usage rights in the UK - makes the system the hub of such programmes. Also on the agenda is news about new formulati
on Dakar Pro wettable granule glyphosate and the methods that CWC employs to control Japanese Knotweed, now seen as enemy number one among UK invasive species.
CWC offers a full package of education, containment and management of what is a highly destructive plant.

"Weed-IT delivers the most accurate spot treatment available anywhere," said CWC Technical Director Alan Abel. "Our mission with the roadshows is to inform those managing weed control programmes of the value of the technology in limiting the quantities of plant chemicals that contractors apply to hard surfaces and pavement areas."
