SEWERBY Cricket Club groundsman Carl Robinson was honoured last Tuesday at Headingley, when he received an Outstanding Services to Cricket Award (OSCA) from the Yorkshire Cricket Board.
Carl was nominated by the club to receive an award after announcing his decision to retire from the position of groundsman at the club - a position he has held for thirty-five years.
Carl was invited to the Headingley Awards Ceremony, not knowing whether he had won or not but his outstanding service to Sewerby, and cricket in general, were rightly recognised by the judges and he returned triumphantly with a certificate and engraved glass trophy.
