White Horse Contractors, the leading sports pitch construction company is delighted to announce the promotion of Steve Greene to the position of Managing Director and the appointment of Paul Browne as their new General Manager.
After 14 very successful years as Managing Director and following a serious stroke, Rob Donald has unfortunately had to step down from his position. Rob is recovering well and the company are delighted to announce that he will be returning to work in July in the capacity of Consultant, so we will continue to benefit from his considerable knowledge and expertise, principally for natural turf projects.
Having completed nine years as a Director and General Manager for the company, Steve Greene has been promoted to replace Rob Donald as Managing Director. Steve has previously been responsible for, amongst other things, a number of the company's highest profile projects including; the reconstruction of Ascot racecourse track, the construction of the training academy for Chelsea FC, the Welsh Rugby Union Centre of Excellence and the construction of nine pitches in Abu Dhabi for the FIFA Club World Cup in 2009.
We are also delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Browne, an experienced manager with 22 years in the construction industry. Paul has a wide range of experience from marine works, water treatment plants, road and drainage contracts. He has extensive experience of working with main contractors and has been heavily involved in numerous extremely high profile and prestigious projects including: the investigation and refurbishment of the Thames Barrier and the pilot routes for the Mayor of London's Cycle Superhighways, he has been involved in the long term maintenance schemes for Essex County Council and Transport For London.
Most recently Paul has been involved in the demolition phase of the Olympic Park, followed by landscaping works within the Olympic Park to create parkland, wetland habitats and spectator areas for White Horse Contractors.

Paul says; "My Role as General Manager for the company will be to assist the Managing Director in the direction and management of operational, contractual and commercial matters from initial enquiry, tendering, securing, procurement, resourcing, contract delivery and close out." "I look forward to working with the management team in developing relationships with our existing clients and building new relationships with potential clients and developing new markets."
Steve Greene said; "The Company has developed hugely in the time that I have been involved and we are very fortunate to have such loyal and dedicated operations and management teams who constantly deliver superb facilities, working with a wide variety of clients."
