Woodbury Park has become one of the latest golf clubs to switch to an all-Toro fleet.

The Devon club had been using a competing manufacturer's machines for the last 11 years on lease. But when the time came to buy, course manager Ian Chenery wanted the best in the business.

"This year we decided to purchase our own fleet rather than continue to lease," he explains. "We demo'ed three major brands and Toro came out on top. We felt it was the best stuff to buy because of its build quality."

Among the machines tending to Woodbury Park's two courses - The Oaks 18-hole championship course and The Acorns nine-hole course - are two Reelmaster 5610s, three Greensmaster 3250-Ds and a Groundsmaster 4500-D as well as one of the newly introduced Groundsmaster 5900 wide-area rotary mowers.

Ian says it was Toro's mowers that most impressed during the demos, so these recent arrivals have not disappointed. "The mowers really impressed us - in fact, they were the main draw to buying Toro. The quality of cut is just fantastic. We're particularly pleased with the fairway mowers - the look and performance of our fairways is the best they've ever been because of the new mowers."

Ian is also delighted with his new Workman utility vehicle with 200 Sprayer attachment. "It's great," he adds. "The support from our dealer Devon Garden Machinery has also been fantastic. If ever there's been an issue, someone's come out the same or next day to sort it out. I'm a very happy Toro convert."
