Moss growth

Ady Rob, moss will naturally begin to die off when the square becomes drier and air circulation around soil surface improves. It is never too late to treat with a product for removal, this operation will involve the light scarification or verticutting out of the blackened moss, make sure not to score or mark the soil surface if dry as these lines may remain for the WHOLE season. The application of one of many moss killers on the market now will still be a success. More details on several messages previously in this section, look them up. cheers jb.

Jon! question?

Having looked after cricket for a fair few years now, I would not see a problem in treating the moss (say with vitax 50/50), then scarifying the hell out of it after it has blackened.

My question is, if the surface is then scared by the scarifying this will dissapear after the first rolling anyway, should it not? after all it should be a good surrey loam base.

Thnx, David
