when would the best time be for mole ploughing our footy pitch, if we leave it until mid May end of season the ground may be too hard, and if we did try in the next few weeks how long would it take before we can play on the pitch,

hi paul. in my experiences of mole ploughing you do get a slight amount of heave. this is when the ground is lifted up and this does cause some disruption to the levels. The ground heaves up more when it is very dry so it is best to do mole ploughing when the soil is damp, but not too wet. When the soil is moist the mole forms better aswell. The surface disruption is nothing major and is easily resolved by a light roller or mower.
