Mike, as the grass is growing well, spray with a systemic spray one that works within the plant ie TURF CLEAR,ensure that you read the label and have the certificates to spray.

Spraying
Thanks both of you for the help. Regarding spraying certificates, is there some law regarding age of the sprayer, i.e. ( grandad law ) or something of that nature?

spraying
There is a legislation in place called the Grandfather clause. This means that people born before a certain date can apply chemical treatments. ( i dont know the date which applies.) BUT!!! it doesnt help in any way if you have an accident due to any unforseen circumstances, as you cannot legally prove competence. At least with a spraying qualification you are proving competence. Better still, use a spray contractor, no storage of chemicals on site, no PPE, no need to dispose of empty chemical containers and they normally are cheap in the long term.

???
i could be wrong, but hasnt the grandfather clause been disregarded now and everyone needs to be certified before applying chemicals?

spraying.
Can anyone clarify if Grandfather clause is still binding. Either way, it is better to have competence certification, or better still use contractor.

grandfather
the clause still exists but
"operators still need to be able to demonstrate competence and show proof of appropriate training."
thats for people born before december 31 1964.
