Message Board - Machinery: water removal roller

Has anyone used or heard of an american water removal roller called a "super soppers" ? If so i would like to know where to get one.
Ive had a "Bow-dry" and worn it out over the last 4 years, even had a replacement drum for it as its near impossible {imho) to fit a replacement foam spunge.
The "super soppers" hold the water within the drum and seem easier to use and empty than the "bow-dry"!

Try a water hog available from Tildanet based in Bristol

This is bad news because I have just bought a new sponge for our "bow dry" from the pitchcare shop and now it seems that I won't be able to fit it.
Any tips?

Surely there must be a way to fit a new sponge - I can hardly see it being a use and chuck away machine.
Of course there's no bounce, bend your back and put some bloody effort in.

i replaced mine this time last year and have had no problems. After removing the old sponge and cleaning the drum i sprayed the drum lightly with carpet adhesive (approx £5 per can from B&Q) then carefully pressed the new sponge onto the drum. as i said ive had no problems and if last summer wasnt a true test of its workableness then i dont know what would be
im now an ex groundsman but hey old habits die hard

I bought an exchange roller for mine, although more expensive the time saved made it worthwhile!
My machine needs more than a new sponge as the wheels and squege roller bearings are worn due to sand being picked up with the water!
