loads of moss on our bowling greens,tried several monthly applications of liquid irons-various to little effect.Cant use dichlorophen( which dont like anyway) so come on guys ,what are u using?(p.m. me if you dont want to advertise products)

got massive worm problem on bowling green,identified as microscolex phosphoreus on www.theturfdiseasecentre.co.uk .carbendazim and thianate methyl dont work and thousands of small casts on green .Help,anyone else got these and what are u doing about it?

Ebony. Firstly the moss is there for a reason. You need to find out why it is present before you will be able to effectively get rid of it.
Liquid Fe + brushing is what I use on the cricket square in spring to clear any moss that has grown in the winter.

Of course there's no bounce, bend your back and put some bloody effort in.

Iron will not work paticularly well in winter and appears to need strong sunlight to work at its best , although I cannot find proof of this anywhere - the moss will go brown within minutes of application. Having a high iron content in the soil will discourage moss. Generally though it will not establish on healthy dense swards.
