ebony,
i have a Trimax for our rugby / football pitches and it is excellent, i know Ticky has (did have) a Major mower and again, is happy with his purchase. Up until this year we used the Trimax on our cricket Outfields.
Get them both in for a demo, there is not a lot between them we just preferred the Trimax.

What do you use for your outfields now Neil ? I remember, i think, you were quite a fan of the trimax for your outfield because of the cheap servicing.

We've got a JCB 213RL roller mower. Had it 18 months, and had no bother with it Leaves a nice stripe too !! Height range of cut , 13mm upwards. Cheaper than a Trimax !!! not as heavy as a Major (tried them both). Parts are easy to obtain (blades only on ours).

Yes Neil i still have my Major 8400 Rollermower, 8ft cut, i am looking to chop it out against a new one this year as they hold their value and have been given a favourable part ex deal.. i have not had a single problem with it, i keep the baldes sharp. i have 2 spare sets, and changes them regular.., not ideal, but this is it cutting in the rain on a sports field that customer insisted i do there an then..
