I can't get hold of any Ringer anywhere and am being told it is unavailable nationwide.
Is this true?

Try Rigby Taylor for their equivalent. It will be something to do with the withdrawal of carbendazim for use as a fungicide. It can now only be used as a vermicide so all old packaging will be invalid.
