grass dieing off

Our football pitch was reseeded and top soiled by hand on the 24th May, approx ten days later seed began to grow, since then we have been watering and cuting the grass. Over the last couple of weeks i have noticed areas that seem to be dieing off especially in the goal mouths, should we apply some kind of fertilzer to help these bad areas.
I am only a part time groundsmen learning as i go along, so could do with some advice!

Feeding

I would use a fairly weak liquid feed initially and graduallly increase it to full strength this should recover the area.
To help prevent this happening again try using a slow release fertilliser.
This will then give controlled feeding over a long period of time. Also with new grass the area needs to be really well aerated or the plant will have very shallow roots and will never give good growth.

Feeding

Thanks for the info, i was not aware that we had to keep the area well aerated, i now know for next season.
