can any one please help the chain on my ransomes certes has become loose and i cant figure out how to re adjust it to correct tension
so is there anyone willing to give me advise

Yep, there should be a tool with the machine with two prongs that engage in two holes in the clutch. Undo the clutch cover slightly so that it will slide to re-tension the chain, then do it up again. But I'm going back here a bit, depends on the age of the machine, things move on.

There were 3 chains on an Auto-Certes and either chains or belts on a Super-Certes, depending on age.

Last time I checked the land-roll (or tertiary) drive chain adjusting tool was still available from your Ransomes Jacobsen dealer.

The primary and secondary chains were on either fixed or spring-loaded slider adjusters, again depending on age.

all i seem to have is 2 chains either side the clutch 1 for the blades and 1 for the drive

Ah, Sumomosr is abreast of the situation as usual, I'm talking a different model here altogether I think, also age dims the memory.
