Gents
My club is considering installing an artificial strip. The key question will be cost. Can anyone give me an approx cost for installation?
Thanks

Brand new, from 4.5K to 6.5K depending on the carpet, construction and company chosen.
Of course there's no bounce, bend your back and put some bloody effort in.

Would add that the difference in the general carpet quality, durability, playability and cost is immense with Wilton Wovens being the 'choice' but most expensive at circa 2.25-2.5K just for the carpet. Some of the intermediate carpets available such as 7 and 10mm tufted carpets may be ok but may not be ''approved'' products. Some suppliers have stopped selling the cheaper straight Needlepunch Carpets as durability is questionable...
Go for a genuine Wilton Woven product if you can afford but this will sit at or just above the figures Jon quotes for full installation.

I had a carpet replaced the other year and cost was iro 4.5K (ish) - well worth the money. Shop around and you can get a decent carpet installed fully installed for 6.5K (+vat).
Of course there's no bounce, bend your back and put some bloody effort in.

Two or three years ago my club funded a local school to install a strip which we use for some colts/wet weather practice etc, at a cost of £7.5k. Was it Notts Sports ?
It was installed in about 4 days, built in profile with an existing small square. Crushed aggregate on granite chippings base, shock pads under the run ups, not sure what spec carpet.

Littlebaddow, the costs do vary depending on quality but a TS6 (ECB) standard installation will cost between £6500 - £7800 on flat ground and more if a lot of levelling of the surrounds is needed. Surfaces at this standard are all Wilton Weave most incorporate a shock pad - some with an extra man made layer to improve consistency and amount of bounce. All but 1 are laid on aggregate these days, the other on tarmacadam. The aggregate is there to transmit the characteristics of the subbase so that bounce and pace vary with conditions to closer simulate conditions on the square. make sure the system you choose has durability so that the aggregates remain clean free from roots, worms and ants. That way it will be cheaper to replace once worn out

Dont forget that there are grants available from the Lords Taverners for allweather surfaces which if my memory is still OK is for a maximum of £3k for a full length pitch. At the school where I work we had a grant for a new pitch in April this year - one condition is that you purchase from an ECB approved company - have a look on their website or speak to your County Cricket Board.
Best of luck
