Message Board - Cricket: How to treat worm casts?

8 Sep 2009 by marcuscoates

Hi I've noticed that after my end of season work and through the last few months there appears to be quite a significant increase in the amount of worm casts on the square. Its not something I'm really familiar with and have never applied a treatment before. The square is mown quite regularly and the clippings are always collected. What is the best treatment and how do I go about it?

i for 1 would use carbendazim, however you can only apply this if you have a spraying licence, otherwise it would mean getting in a contractor or if you know someone local (farmer or other groundsman) that may do it for you.

there are many threads on here about the treatment of worms so a look through those may be of help to you

im now an ex groundsman but hey old habits die hard
