Message Board - Cricket: Views on Toro Greenmaster 1000 for pitch mower
1 Nov 2009 by Beast55 Last edited 1 Nov 2009
I am interested in any views or thoughts about the Toro Greenmaster 11 blade as a suitable machine for cutting wickets. Our existing two mowers are/have come to the end of the road.
I have been looking at mowers and my local distributor has offered me a five year old toro which is comming in shortly from a golf club.
They are looking for £2.2K ?
Views appreciated

Good mowers, as are the John Deere 220's.
The JD is preferred by cricket Groundsmen down here.
$2,200? It better be in mint condition with new bottom blade and sharpened reel. Check side plates for rust where the bedbar is pivoting.

Also check belt covers, they rot out at the bottom and are fairly expensive.
Check reel wear as this is also a dear item to replace and at 2.2K I would want it ground with a new bedknife.
A very good machine and the Kawasaki engine goes on for ever.
Keep a pair of drum belts on the shelf.

Have a look on the pitchcare used machinery section onn here. There is a Dennis that is half the price and looks a good machine with a a scarifying cassette thrown in. I got my super certes 51 off the site here for £1500 and its a great mower.
I dont know the toro but it seems a bit pricey
What do I do? I just cut the grass.

Agree £2.2k seems a bit pricy. We have a Dennis FT510 which is ex demo for the same money and a Ransomes Super Bowl under 12 months old for £1800 in stock. The Dennis FT610 mentioned by Barry above is ours but has been sold, the Paladin still on Used Machinery is still available. Call us on 07786 662114 if we can be of assistance.
