Message Board - Natural Turf: The cost of Systems

10 Nov 2009 by Mark Jones

I am just doing some research on drainage.

What is the average cost of a new primary piped drainage system for a football pitch? What is the life span of such a new system?

What is the cost of a secondary drainage system for a football pitch? And how many years is this system meant to last for?

P.s my club have not won the lottery! I am just interested to know!

Mark, how long is this piece of string..... There isnt really an average, what pipe size, density, depth, backfill specification, secondary system plans, outfall type and distance, soil type, location, microclimate, aggregate sources, access, security, client are we talking about here..... lol

Primary systems could be anything between £10,000 and £20,000 with variables above.
Secondary could be £5,000 to £15,000.....

Longevity of system down to many too, soil type, maintenance levels, pitch sanding, aeration etc etc... a full monty system could be innaffective in matter of months if drains or surface cap off ...

Let us know when the club do lol

Plastic.... it's The End I tell you... THE END!!!!
