Never heard of it and anyone offering to install such a thing would not be an ecb approved installer.
I imagine that the base would de-form if it were hot and ultimately lead to dangerous bounce.
I'd avoid it if it were me.

I played a Season in Australia in the Eighties, and some of the lower Grade Clubs played on a Tarmac base covered with something they called Meltoid (a kind of Roofing Felt).
I seem to remember it being a bit bouncy, as they tried to knock the Pommie's head off, but the heat didn't affect it too much.

Hi. My Club had a two lane net area and our old artificial track laid in 2006. It was laid by exclusive Leisure. The system is E.C.B approved. The general opinion of the players, and moor so the coaches of the youth teams it is excellent. The bounce and pace is true. Our old artificial track which was put down some years ago by Notts sports was slow low and no one wanted to play on it. The tarmac is special type and the weather has no effect on it. We are one of 3 Clubs to my knowledge in the area to have the system fitted and they all say the same. Check out there website. If you need any more info or if you what to see the pitches your very welcome. Our Club is in Worcestershire.
