Anyone do any flame weeding? And can you recommend a good flame gun?

It is a good tool for doing path edges, gutters or along walls, steps etc if you don't want to weedkill. Best on young tender broadleaved weeds. Not so good for wide areas, grasses or tall weeds.

I have used a Sheen, it takes 1-2 litres of parafin for about an hours use, and it will strengthen your right arm/wrist after a while ! The trick is to brush over the weeds with the hottest part of the flame, and then move on (rather than trying to burn the things to a crisp) - the killing mode is to singe and burst the main transport cells, so the plants take a couple of days to wilt and die off.
