Message Board - Machinery: Auto certes bottom blade

24 Feb 2010 by Stuart Barnes

Had a auto certes serviced for use on a cricket pitch.
The bottom blade looks a bit thicker than the one in before, will this cause a problem or should I get it changed to the thinner version?

Thanks

Depends on your HoC. (Height of cut).

Use your setting bar and see if there is enough clearance for your HoC. If not, you need to change something. Either the HoC or the bedknife.

It may just appear thicker due to it being new and your old one being worn?

I thought it might be the standard bottom blade they have put instead of a shaver type blade?

Think you will find if its the satndard bottom blade will have a lip, whereas the shaver blade is flat.
