This would be a good start to give you some broad ideas,
I was left in the s**t in 1985 and still doing it, so brace yourself

What goes around, comes around

Good luck John
As minor says, that is a good place to start. You say nothinghas been done since last August, was the end of season work done at least?
Do you know any experienced groundsman round your way who could have a look at it for you? Or how about contacting your local ECB pitch advisor? What county are you in?

What do I do? I just cut the grass.

Yes what I couldnt see is mentioned is equipment I would access your equipment what you have/ need & what equipment needs servicing as no point in planning works if equipment won't work when needed.

John, where in Wilts are you,I may be able to help. I'm in the north of the county.

John, if you ve had no end of season work done, why was that? No money or what? In any case, you need someone to have a look, good luck.

for 40 years we've been funded by avon tyres,as theyve been bought out by an american firm(coopers) theyve withdrawn their funds
in a way its good as now we're free to progress as a club, unfortunately during the non-season the wicket was forgotten about,it wasnt till i crashed a commitee meeting that it was decided id do it
we have the maintenance equipment as far as i know(roller, wicket mower, outfield mower etc)as we are a sports club with rugby, football, bowls & tennis and im pretty sure i get to use all equipment belonging to the club(melksham house).
my main worries are that my course isnt untill the end of march and i know i need to start now(or even 6 months ago).

im grateful for any info guys,no matter how small

John
Get in touch with your local ecb pitch inspector mate or take up the offer from the bloke who offered to have a look in an earlier post.If the end of season work wasnt done, its pretty impossible to know what states its in and what needs doing.

John, I was certain that I'd already posted a response to this thread - but it don't seem to be here :(.

Your ECB pitch guy would be Gordon Gill (Bath on here) I think. Give him a shout and get him round to give you some advice.

Of course there's no bounce, bend your back and put some bloody effort in.

I used to manage the site for them untill they ran out of money. Nobody has contacted me with ref to this, come on John, give me a ring. See how the league might help.
You have a lovely roller, do not know about the mowers etc, i used my own.
