A quickie!!
When correctly fitted, which way round do the slots in the hollow tines face. Forwards or backwards??
Or does it matter. I've always fitted the forwards.

Slots to the rear or towards inside of the drum

Yes, 'Thomas', it does. Wrong way and you're ejecting your cores into the path of where you are coreing (next tine strikes).
Right way, as Richard says, and you have a clean path ahead.
