"Hi people (with nothing better to do). I'm thinking of maybe buying a spray marker made by a company called 'Fleet' and have no idea where to seek spare parts from. Should I, as a last resort, call the manufacturers?"

There. I fixed your original post David!

Carry on....

On a side issue re the Kombi... The Wheels are rubbish if you have to wheel it on concrete or down a road to get to your pitch... I've replaced three in a year after they opened up and burst...
Got 4 brand new wheels for £40 from a supplier of Wheels and Castors.. much better, more traction, easier to turn.. Just take the size from the outside of tyre, google it and you will find a supplier.
Its my only quip with the Kombi...

As has been pointed out, get them from Fleet. I just got two - a replacement and a spare. Two nozzles plus VAT and carriage came to £9.75. Hardly going to break the bank, is it?

From the posh end of the room!!

Blue or red nozzles in any good hardware shop, about £2 each.

A few dodgy paths along the way in the park with glass, potholes, rubbish and general crap does the wheels no good at all... If it was being rolled out of a shed onto grass, I'd never expect to have any issue... but defo the tyres could be improved for the more (off the grass user)... Well the tyres opened up on me and little bubbles of the tube appeared and then its just a matter of time before they go bang!

Happened on our Kombi, the tyre walls started coming apart, Fleet replaced them FOC in fairness no problem. Been ok since.

Ahhh... 'thought you were familiar!
Reading back I realise you're Leeboy's mate who doesn't know how to use a telephone. No wonder you're asking for someone to make your phone calls for you.

Being so technologically-challenged do you really think you should be left in charge of such a hi-tech spray marker?

Harrumpf!

hi i dont know leeboy but think we have had a few chats on here when he has offered advice etc...................

i can make phone calls and i was actually asking on here one for where i can get the parts from and two someone might have had an old bit lying around..........

i dont think your comment sumomosr was needed at all and if you cant help or be constructive then please dont comment simple isnt it

David...if you contact Fleet....they will tell you that you need the knib, and the nozzle assy which plugs into the fitting at the front of the kombi...the knib slides onto the round pin on the front, and the nozzle slids downward onto the square pin so the srayjet hangs down thru the "D" shaped hole in the knib....you then adjust the width of the line from 2 to 4 inch by lifting the lug and sliding up or down to the mark.........from memory you are looking at about £90 to £100 for both parts...(dont hold me to it).....i would get these from Fleet direct, they will courier them to you over night..

Lee, I used the term 'mate' in the loosest possible sense!

David, yes, Lee has certainly offered some practical advice to you in the past.

Here's a link to the infamous and epic "David Boughtwood Road-Kill" thread:

The Road-Kill Road-Show

The last post in that thread contains a question which, dear readers, curiously went unanswered...

In addition:

"i can make phone calls and i was actually asking on here one for where i can get the parts from and two someone might have had an old bit lying around.........."

So, you've now mastered the intricacies of the modern telephony system? I refer you to 'The Road-Kill Road-Show'.

Furthermore,
1. Your first question need not have been even asked.
2. Nowhere in your earlier postings did you allude to the possibility of seeking 'an old bit lying around'.

So, as for 'Simple' ? Yes, it is, but I'm not!

hi ticky21

thanks very much for your advice and the description of the parts i need and a rough price very helpful.

also case closed now and i m not one to continue getting slated i posted a question might not have been clear or well written i ll remember that but people are on here for advice and help and open crititism not to be reminded of past quotes, questions etc. i m not saying i know anything bout being a groundsman but i ve been working on village footy pitch for few seasons now and love it, why it might not be the best we have had good reveiws from away teams and referees which is pleasing as its all done on very little money or if i really need something i pay for it as i love the club and enjoy working on the pitch.

thanks

to be honest david......there are some very skilled and qualified guys on here... more so than me and ive been in this game all my working life, best part of 28 years...by the same token ive asked some questions on here, that some would say for a chap with 28 years experience is a bit daft, BUT...we all dont know everything....my dear old dad (RIP)...was a very proud man, who gave his whole working life to the country estate where we lived, 46 years, and he still wasnt too proud to ask me for advice on modern techniques or methods, or machinery....dont be disheartened by the feedback from some of the guys on here, i personally hold 99.9% of them in very high regard....im sure if you were in bother, all of them would still offer sound advice......
Regards Ticky
