Message Board - Pests, Weeds and Diseases: mole runs

18 Apr 2010 by Iain Henderson

Hi

I have been told that if you do not destroy the runs then other moles can move in and use them. So my question is how do you destroy the runs. My site is on clay soil and the runs are in sports pitches both football and rugby.

Should I use a Verti Drain or Groundbreaker/Earthquake or is there another method.

This is true. I trapped all the moles on my golf course 5 years ago and every winter new moles come in from the boundary and take up residence in the old runs. As for a solution to destroying old runs...... is it really possible? I doubt it!
