Message Board - Machinery: Ransomes Mk10 Gang Mowers

5 Jun 2010 by Mark Boundy

I have a set of quite old Ransomes mk10 gangs that dont cut too bad but need new adjusters, sole plate and fillet. Does anyone know how difficult it is to remove and renew these items? Currently the nuts and adjusters are pretty much seized and rounded off so they may be a bit awkward. Im trying like most people to save money, so it would be beneficial if I could do this work myself.

Any information would be gratefully accepted!

Not too complicated but somewhat laborious.
You may need the help of oxy-acetylene if things are very seized or rounded?
The big pivot bolt runs through bronze bushes so be careful.
Adjuster bolts are held in by roll-pins which can need renewal after some time.
An extra pair of hands is more than useful on these units.
Genuine parts are all available as are several sources of Pattern parts through various dealers.
