What is the least distance you can get away with between wickets? We currently allow 14 inches.

Each pitch 10 ft no spacing between

10ft from centre stump to centre stump. I sometimes cheat on small recreational grounds and measure centre stumps at 9ft.

Done mine at 9ft centre's this season been ok but back to 10ft next year they do look a little scruffy on the outer edges at 9ft

9ft 6inches for me this year, worked out ok. Only 3 inches overlap each side and its given me another 7 foot of practice strip space.

What do I do? I just cut the grass.

Commented on this subject in the past and said that I had narrowed mine off to get an extra pitch on the square.
Well next year I am going to re-do them to 10 ft as about 3 pitches have been, so far, unused.

You're lucky Chris, marked mine at 9' this year to gain an extra Track on an 11 Pitch Square and has worked quite well. Already been across the Square twice and in 2 weeks time have a full game every day for 2 Weeks. Still , the spinners should be happy in September.

Our square is approx. 142 feet we have 14 strips. Is it worth squeezing one more wicket out for net practice?

It works for me, but with less width the bowlers will encroach on the neighbouring Pitch. With 142' you can mark to9'6" and get 15 Tracks. (next year).
