Message Board - Cricket: Dipples

I've noticed a bit of a dipple in one of my first team wickets and would appreciate some advice on how to get rid of it. Rolling has so far not done the job, I suppose I should try hollow or solid tining or maybe koroing, a good colleague suggested shooting but I don't think my root growth is that good.

OK, I'll bite. What the heck is a 'dipple' ??
Of course there's no bounce, bend your back and put some bloody effort in.

at first I thought he meant dimple. but you'd hardly need to hollow to sort a dimple.

Yes, can be a nasty affliction TB. Perhaps if we all blew our Vuvuzellas it might help.

It's going from bad to worse, now appears that there is a 'tittle' somewhere above the dipple!!.

"It'll make you wanna dip yo dipple" is a line from the Red Hot Chili Peppers' song "Backwoods."
Tony, you could just enjoy your dipple. Of course, you could just have been refering to your first team captain....

Noticed the word 'riffle' in a recent post, glad to know someone is thinking along my lines, it's a hard life for a crust of bread.

It sound as if you've rolled the pitch while it was too soft and I assume that the only way to make it flat again is to make it nearly too soft again and perhaps roll in the other direction at first.
You could just leave it, I suppose, and level it when you do your end of season renovations.
Presentation is the name of the game.

Think I'll stick with the Dipples but thanks for the advice Mr. Oaks, Mrs. TB is having a bit of trouble with her trifles in the tea hut so will have to go, thanks again.
