Is there a standard size that a penalty spot should be?

As I understand it, it is called a 'Penalty Mark' and there are no real dimensions for it.
Some people mark with a spot, cross or a small circle, the player can put the ball on any part of the 'Penalty Mark'.

yeah the penalty spot is 9 inches inches in diameter, and should be 11 metres from the goal line

Stephen, the use of imperial measurements juxtaposed with metric is clumsy at best.

FIFA and Pitchcare use metric units as does the majority of the rest of the world.
