I run a model car track and have need of used Astro Turf. I am told about 100 rolls or so.
Hopefully someone on this forum is lifting some and needs to dispose of it :-)
I am based in Nottingham. Please reply if you have some available.
Thanks

We have the room for some lorries with it being a hardstanding site. I would hope they would have there own Hiab built in :-)
As for the qty, we would take what we could get really. Beggers cant be choosers..

comes in 4 x 50m -60m generally say 200sqm.100 rolls = 20,000sqm - 2 hectares - 3 football pitches. Each roll may contain 10mm sand and therefore weigh 2 tonnes. new carpet in those quantities can be bought for under £10 per sq m. A hockey pitch being replaced is 6000 sqm but some of it will be very worn. contractors will fall over themselves to get rid of it to you

100 rolls for a model car track ? That's a heck of a lot of astro.
100 rolls wouldn't come on a lorry with a hiab - it'd come on a artics (though some of them could have Moffetts on them).
Of course there's no bounce, bend your back and put some bloody effort in.

JL, some artics also have Hiab's.

Possibly 200 tons of plastic turf. Artic with Hiab approx 25 ton payload, eight artics. Best of luck with that, transport say £1.50 to £2 per mile. I hope you get what you want locally.

Bath, Well, I never knew that. Just goes to show you never stop learning something.
At the end of the day it doesn't really matter what it comes on - you're going to need to have access to a forklift to move it around on site anyway. There's no way on earth you're going to be man handling that volume of astro.
Of course there's no bounce, bend your back and put some bloody effort in.

Reminds me of my time in retail, a pallet of sugar contained, If I remember correctly, 980 bags, you could order by the bag or by the pallet, some bright spark managed to push the wrong button and ordered 980 pallets, Luckily as the fifth 40 tonner was being loaded someone in the distribution depot made a timely phone call to the store ' it asda be a mistake' he quite rightly said.
A Freudian slip is when you say one thing but mean your mother

If you need any more we resurface old pitches and so have approx 6,000mē at a time. Normal deal is we cut, lift and load, you pay the transport and offload ....
